That's a Wrap!
Today Spotify Wrapped came out and it's so funny being on the artist side of the equation. This is my second year with a series of releases, and seeing them roam free into the digital aether is crazy.
On Spotify alone, I ended up with over 10k streams, across 111 countries, and saw some crazy gains since 2023 (85% increase in listeners, 50% increase in saves). I'm even in 6 people's top 5 artists, which BLOWS MY MIND!
With music and other personal projects, I feel like I'm always behind or there's something I "could" be doing when I'm not working on "the thing" at the time. I rarely take a step back to reflect and celebrate how far things have gone for me. SO, this is my attempt today and a new ritual I should start.
Over the years of pushing and learning and banging my head on a wall, I am truly lucky to have this ability to create music that resonates with some of you. I am truly lucky to have stumbled and then formed my own music community in New York City. And I'm truly lucky for those who are reading this post and are along for the journey with me.
For a LONG time, I questioned "When can I say that I'm a music producer?" Was it when I hit 1,000 streams on a song, 10k? When I had label releases tracks or DJ residencies or a tik tok that blew up?
I'm a lot more comfortable saying that I'm a music producer than I have ever been before, and that's progress to me.
Thank you for being along for the journey and I'll share a little more about the ride here.
