Why Am I Doing This
We (people, artists, creatives) don't talk about ourselves enough. That's my hot take.
I think in the pursuit of creation and design and deep exploration of the soul in your medium of choice, we (the aforementioned subgroup above) get caught in the technicalities of "how" we do our work and also the "show" of how the work looks later, but my favorite musicians, artists, directors, designers, creators, don't talk enough about themselves from a personal lens.
Even in a vacuum, it's your history and perspective and life journey, that has made you create the things you create. It's easy to point a finger at *insert topic* on why we consume something, but to create something..... that has DEEP implications into who you are.
I want this blog to do a few things:
1.) I love talking about me. I'll use this as a sounding board for my personal thoughts/musings.
2.) I think a little perspective into my life gives credence into what I create, why I created it, and what it all means to me.
3.) I just love writing and miss it as a medium that I used to participate in.
I fell in love with this idea of using writing as long-form, text-based, therapy in high school and I'm glad to find it again. I hope along the way I can share a little bit of wisdom that stays with you too.
